It's All About ME!

So, I figured you all probably want to know a little about me, right? RIGHT?! Of course you do! Hey, where are you going? Sit down and read this! If you don't, I'll tell everyone your secret. You know, the one about what you did to that horse that one summer. Yeah, now you're sitting down and reading aren't you? That's what I thought. You are wise to do so.

Anyway, now that that business is taken care of, my name is Cody and I am a 20 (almost 21) year old white male from Southern California. I was born and raised in the little town of Simi Valley. Well, I say "little" but it had over a hundred-thousand people. It did feel small though since there were maybe three tall buildings and there was never anything to do. I personally never found it to be as devoid of fun as most others did, but maybe that's because I'm not a very outgoing person, or maybe I just had a better imagination than others. Simi is in a great location though. Pretty much anything you want to do is about an hour away (give or take thirty minutes to an hour). Beach? Yup. Desert? Yup. Mountains? Yup. City? Yup. Church of Scientology? Yup. Simi was also the safest city in America for awhile, but a string of murders quickly changed that! No, I don't work for the city of Simi Valley to bring in business or tourism, I just lived there for 20 years of my life, so I know everything about that town. For example, I know where the middle school kids hang out and smoke, I know that Ronald Reagan is buried there, I know that Charlie Manson and his gang used to hang around the valley, and I know that the hills to the south are irradiated beyond repair due to stuff that leaked from the Rocketdyne facility back in the 1950's (actually, I have no idea how bad it really is, could be nothing...). Yeah, Simi is a pretty interesting place if you know where to look. So, for all of you who say that Simi is boring, go find the Manson caves and roll around in some radioactive dirt with Ronald Reagan's corpse, because you can't do that just anywhere in this world!

I no longer live in Simi Valley though. Recently I moved to the town of Flagstaff, Arizona to attend college at Northern Arizona University. I'm studying to be a Geologist, but I'm not really sure what I want to do with that knowledge. I'd like to study the Geology of other planets, go work for NASA, and end up being the first person on Mars, but that's just one of those "crazy dreams" we all have that we know will never happen but still like to think about anyway. I'll probably end up in a cubicle with my name on it like most other people. Flagstaff is a neat town. Population of around fifty thousand and surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery known to mankind. Basically, I could drive out to the Grand Canyon, eat lunch on the rim, and come home if I wanted to. I plan on going out and exploring the surrounding countryside more whenever I have the time and the roads aren't closed or messed up from snow or rain. The skies are also very dark and good for stargazing. I've already nearly frozen my nipples off watching a lunar eclipse. Was it worth it? Sure it was! Men don't need nipples anyway.

I'm living with my grandparents (father's side) while I'm here in Flagstaff and let me tell you, it's a real blast (sarcasm). I'll talk more about my grandparents in a future post, there is a lot to say. I hate to drag their names through the mud, but I'll do it anyway because I think it's a good learning experience for people to see what not to be like. I still love them, they're just...frustrating a lot of the time.

Now, there is quite a bit about my personality that I want to talk about, but I'll save the details for future posts. Basically, I'm into cars, I play guitar (not well, but I try), I enjoy reading, I love stargazing and astronomy, I love camping and being out in nature (not necessarily in a hippie way), and as I've mentioned before, I'm one of the shy, quiet, non-outgoing types. I've also recently become interested in religion and I will definitely talk about my various thoughts on that in future posts. Also, I'd at some point like to talk about my childhood and growing up. So, I have a lot of stuff to talk about, but none of it is planned out in any way. Whenever I think of something, I'll poorly develop the idea into an incoherent wall of text and post it. Kind of like what I did here.

Alright, that's it for now. Go away. But come back soon!

New Bloginnings

Hello, hello, hello and welcome to my blog! This is the first time I've ever done a blog, so bear with me as I stumble around with how things work. Oh, and please pardon any spelling or grammar mistakes you find, there will most likely be many. Anyway, this is the first official post of my blog and so it seems logical to use it as an introduction to all the things you will find within this blog and why I'm doing it.

First of all, this is a stolen idea. A friend of mine started blogging and I liked the idea, so I stole it from her. It seemed like a good way to get my thoughts out, especially since I find it much easier to communicate through written (or typed) words than speaking to people (I'm shy). Also, since I just recently moved to a new town, I don't really know many people right now that I can talk to. So basically, I'm doing this because I'm very bored. Hey, it beats doing nothing, right?

Next, the most important thing you need to know about this blog is that it will have no official common theme or message or direction of any kind. This blog is dedicated solely to the purpose of emptying my mind of whatever thoughts blow through it. It is literally a "dumping ground" for my brain activity (hence the title), so expect the posts to be random. Sure, some topics may come up more than others, but if that happens, it's unintentional.

Lastly, uh...enjoy reading my blog? Sorry, don't really know what else I should say. I don't want to say too much because then I won't have anything to say in future posts. So yeah, enjoy reading my blog!
